Existing Services Implemented

December 2005 and January 2006, Chicago, IL— America's Rising Stars included within the instructional school day.

Two schools within the third largest American urban education system, Chicago Public Schools, have adopted America's Rising Stars as part of their instructional strategies. This student leadership curriculum was selected because it was performance based and had tremendous flexibility to meet a variety of social and emotional issues that affect studets' performance including: bullying, conflict resolution, communication, career awareness, job readiness skills, leadership, peer to peer mentoring, self-esteem and interpersonal skills development. During the course of 16 weeks, 225 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students will construct an Action Plan for Success and look to improve their own performance by at least 10% to 25%. Areas to be monitored will include: grade improvement, absenteeism and at risk behavior including discipline, suspensions and explusions. Call 219.759.5601 or email for more information.
